We know, it’s been quite some time since we’ve had the luxury to visit our favorite gyms, parks and other fitness clubs. As we get back to some normality, you must put your health front and center. Even if you have put some recent pounds on, you can get back to shape with some re-energized commitment to your health and wellness.
1. Commitment
Make a commitment to exercise at least three to five times a week. Write the days down or add them to your calendar on your phone. Give yourself some rest days however, it’s very important you schedule them in. Life gets busy and will only get busier as we get back to normality.
2. Diet
What you’re eating now is more important than ever. Food is fuel and everything all aspects of what you eat should be scrutinized to get back to normality. Just about everyone has eaten more than they should or simply made poor eating choices due to being limited in where you can go to eat during the pandemic. Now is the time to lay down an optimal meeting plan. Not planning what you eat will leave openings to eating unhealthy. The best thing you can do do maintain a healthy diet is being extra prepared. If you can meal plan, go for it. But you should not go off to work not knowing what you will eat for lunch. Those are the kind of mistakes that will lead to unhealthy eating habits.
3. Support
Eating right, meal prepping and exercising alongside a friend or partner does help. We have digital devices that can help us stay connected to our family and friends that can act as support. Talk to your friends and family about what you are doing. You’ll be surprised that a family member or friend will also want to work towards a healthier lifestyle post pandemic with you.
As daily chores, work and family responsibilities start to stack on, it can be very easy to put your health and wellness in the back seat. Keep the commitments you’ve made to yourself to staying healthy and fit so you can continue to live your best life for you and your loved ones.
